In a Slump...

It seems like over the last few days, several tragedies have struck. The earthquake and tsunami in Japan is probably what everyone has been hearing about the most. On a local level, we have had some tragic accidents, as well. An older gentleman that so many people knew and loved had a fatal one-vehicle accident Saturday night on the highway next to my old house. Unfortunately, the accident wasn't discovered until Sunday morning. I've been wondering if I would have heard the wreck if I was still living there or if I would have been able to do anything even if I "would" have heard it happen. All the while, I am ever so grateful that I don't live on the highway anymore. Last night, there was another wreck about 15 miles north of here that claimed the lives of 2 young men when they hit head-on. Ironically, I talked to one of them for the first time in years about 10 days ago. Today, a semi pulling a drill collided with a car about 5 miles from my office. I know that Air Evac was called in, but I don't know much more than that.

I guess they say bad things happen in "3's." I hope that our "quota" has been met for awhile. If you are of the praying type, please keep these families, as well as many others who are in need, in your thoughts and prayers.
